This is a paid host opportunity
House Tea Hosts are compensated for their work. This is not an unpaid volunteer role. We're looking for approved collaborators who understand the value of what they bring and are compensated fairly for it.
The kind of person we're looking for
You do not need to be a professional teacher or performer.
This program is for warm, interesting people—not credential-based. What matters is your presence, your generosity, and your ability to hold space.
You do need to be:
Comfortable welcoming people
Able to guide a simple conversation or experience
Reliable and prepared
Respectful of the House atmosphere
Interested in building community, not just promoting yourself

Examples of House Tea experiences
Book clubs and literary socials. Listening nights for new music or poetry. Creative workshops and skill-shares. Tea tastings and botanical conversations. Artist talk and maker gatherings. Storytelling circles. Philosophy salons. Healing circles and grief support. Dinner conversations on meaningful topics.

The process
Tell us about your idea
Share your vision. What kind of gathering do you want to host? Who would it serve? Why does it matter to you?
We have a conversation
If the idea feels aligned with the House, we'll talk about dates, compensation, guest expectations, and operational details.
We confirm in writing
Date, compensation, expectations, cancellation policy, and guest-service standards are outlined clearly before you announce anything.
You host and we support
You bring your presence. We handle the room, the tea, the logistics, and the hospitality.
House Tea Host Boundaries
What the host is responsible for
Arriving prepared and on time
Welcoming guests into the experience
Guiding the conversation or activity
Bringing any agreed-upon materials
Keeping the energy aligned with House of MK AZ
Communicating clearly with Tracy or the assigned House contact
Leaving the room clean and reset
Respecting the House, staff, guests, and other practitioners
What the host is not responsible for
Managing staff
Changing House policies
Handling cash, payroll, or refunds
Making promises on behalf of House of MK AZ
Bringing in outside vendors without approval
Rearranging the space without permission
Using the House as a private business headquarters
Turning the event into a personal sales pitch
Inviting people into restricted areas
Speaking for Tracy or representing the House beyond the approved event
House of MK AZ controls
House of MK AZ retains final approval over:
The event name and description
Pricing
Dates and times
Capacity
Guest experience
Music, lighting, scents, and room setup
Promotion and brand language
Whether an event continues
The host brings the idea and energy. The House owns the space, the guest relationship, and the final experience.
Guest and relationship boundaries
Hosts may not:
Contact House guests for unrelated personal business without permission
Add guests to personal email or marketing lists
Collect guest information for their own use
Photograph or film guests without consent
Bring conflict, drama, or personal disputes into the House
Use the House to recruit staff, clients, or contractors
Present personal opinions as House policy
Money boundaries
Before anything is promoted, the host must have written confirmation of:
Host compensation
Revenue split, if applicable
What is included in the ticket
Who pays for supplies
Refund and cancellation policy
Minimum attendance, if required
When payment will be issued
No side deals with guests. No collecting separate payments at the door unless approved in advance.
Cancellation boundary
If the host cannot make the event, they must notify Tracy or the House contact as soon as possible.
A host may not simply cancel, substitute someone else, or change the format without approval.
Repeated cancellations, lateness, poor preparation, or disregard for the House atmosphere may end the hosting relationship.
The most important boundary
You are being invited into the House to help create an experience. You are not being given control of the House.
Host acknowledgment
I understand that House of MK AZ is providing the space, brand, guest experience, and operational support. I am responsible for bringing my agreed-upon experience and honoring the House standards. I understand that final decisions about the space, schedule, pricing, guests, and continuation of the event remain with House of MK AZ.
Shared Space and Host Authority
The Host acknowledges that House of MK AZ is a shared, founder-directed environment. Any room, table, or area made available to the Host is provided solely for the approved event or service and does not create a lease, tenancy, ownership interest, exclusive-use right, or permanent assignment.
The Host may not restrict, interfere with, or object to House-approved services, programming, collaborators, practitioners, vendors, or other uses of the premises.
House of MK AZ retains sole discretion over its operations, programming, scheduling, room assignments, pricing, staffing, guest policies, and future expansion.
Non-Exclusivity
The Host's participation in one event or series does not guarantee continued access to the premises, recurring dates, exclusive use of any area, a minimum number of guests, or participation in future programming.
House of MK AZ may approve other hosts, services, or events that are similar, complementary, or overlapping in nature.
Professional Communication
All concerns regarding the event, premises, guests, staff, or other collaborators must be communicated privately and directly to the designated House representative.
The Host shall not address operational disagreements through public confrontation, disruptive conduct, guest-facing disputes, group pressure, disparaging statements, or communications that could reasonably interfere with the House's operations or reputation.
Guest and Data Protection
The Host may not:
Collect or use guest contact information for personal marketing without authorization
Add House guests to a personal mailing list
Photograph, record, or publish guests without appropriate consent
Make commitments, representations, refunds, or policy statements on behalf of House of MK AZ
Recruit House staff, collaborators, or guests for unrelated services without prior approval
Use the House's name, images, guest lists, or brand assets outside the approved event promotion
Brand and Event Control
All event names, descriptions, pricing, promotional materials, schedules, capacity limits, and public statements must be approved by House of MK AZ before publication.
The Host may promote the approved event through personal channels but may not modify the event terms, represent the event as an independent House partnership, or create promotional materials that conflict with House standards.
Performance and Termination
House of MK AZ may suspend, modify, reschedule, or discontinue an event or hosting relationship when reasonably necessary to protect the guest experience, operational needs, safety, brand standards, or collaborative environment.
A material breach of these standards, repeated failure to meet agreed responsibilities, disruptive conduct, unauthorized use of the premises, or conduct that negatively affects guests, staff, or collaborators may result in immediate removal from the event and termination of the Host's participation.
No continued hosting opportunity is guaranteed.
Acknowledgment
The Host understands that participation in House of MK AZ programming is a collaborative opportunity and does not provide ownership, control, tenancy, exclusivity, or decision-making authority over the premises or the business. The Host agrees to operate within the approved scope of the event and to respect House of MK AZ's operational authority and shared-use model.
What this is not
Not unpaid volunteering
House Tea Hosts are paid. We value your work and compensate you fairly for it.
Not a sales platform
These gatherings are about connection and community, not about promoting your business or products.
Not a venue rental
This is a collaborative partnership. We hold the space together.
Not loosely defined
Everything is documented in advance—dates, payment, expectations, cancellation policies, and guest-service standards. Clarity is part of respect.
The spirit of this work
House Tea Hosts are stewards of presence, not performers. You're not here to be watched. You're here to create the conditions for people to slow down, arrive, and connect.
The House provides the setting. You provide the heart.
